How to run an Instagram boutique with WhatsApp orders

An Instagram boutique lives on its posts, but sales close in WhatsApp. The time goes on answering "price?", "size?" and "available?" for every piece. This guide shows how to put the answers on one page so the buyer sends you an order you can confirm in one reply.

Set up your catalog

  1. Open Page, choose Catalog, set the Button text to "Order on WhatsApp" and add your WhatsApp number for orders.
  2. Add each piece with its price, a description with the fabric and measurements, and up to 3 photos: one flat, one worn, one close up.
  3. Use Add an option, like size or flavour for sizes or colours. A choice can carry its own price, such as XXL at ₹100 more.
  4. Turn off In stock the moment a piece sells, so nobody orders it again.
Good to know

A catalog holds up to 20 items on Free. Pro has no limit, which suits thrift stores with many one off pieces.

Delivery, pickup and payment

Under How buyers get their order, choose Delivery only and add Delivery areas and charges, Pickup only with a Pickup from (optional) note, or Delivery or pickup, buyer chooses. Under Advance payment, choose whether buyers pay on delivery, pay 25% or 50% first, or pay in full by link before you ship.

Orders arrive in your WhatsApp chat with the pieces, sizes and total. Track them under WhatsApp orders, use Send payment link and Mark paid when the money arrives. No fee is charged on WhatsApp orders.

Announce drops and sales

  • Add a Countdown block before a new drop, such as "Friday drop, 8 pm", so followers know when to come back.
  • Add a Discount code block for a sale, such as FESTIVE10, with a Last day (optional). The code is shown to buyers but not applied for them, so take it off the total when you confirm the order.

If you also have a shop

Add a Location block with your address, a Google Maps link and your opening hours. Print a QR code for your page and put it at the counter, so walk in buyers can follow you and order later. How to use a QR code for your stall, shop or packaging covers printing.

Returns and exchanges

Write your rules in Settings, under Seller details, in Refund and cancellation terms: whether you exchange sizes, who pays for return shipping, and that sale and thrift pieces cannot be returned if that is your rule. Send the tracking number on WhatsApp when you ship.
