How paying a seller on Tapyoka works, what to check before you pay, and what to do if something goes wrong.
Last updated 26 October 2026
How paying works
You pay the seller directly, by UPI to the seller’s own UPI ID or through the seller’s own payment link. The seller sells to you, not Tapyoka.
Tapyoka does not receive, hold or forward this money and charges no fee on it. The seller confirms your payment in their dashboard, and then we email your receipt and send your file, booking or membership.
Because Tapyoka never has the money, Tapyoka cannot refund it. Refunds come from the seller, under the refund terms shown on their product page.
Check before you pay
Read the seller details on the product page: the seller name, how to contact them, their city and their refund terms. If something is missing or unclear, ask the seller before you pay.
When you pay by UPI, your UPI app shows the name registered to the UPI ID before you confirm. Check that it matches the seller name on the page. If it does not, do not pay, and report the page to us.
Pay the exact amount shown and add the order code in the payment note, so the seller can find your payment. Keep the UPI reference number (UTR) until the seller confirms.
After you pay, use I have paid on your order page to give the seller the UTR. Every UPI app shows it on the payment success screen, often as UPI Ref No or UTR. If you paid from someone else’s account, add their name as the UPI app shows it. You can add a screenshot of the payment too. Cover your balance before you upload it.
Never share your UPI PIN, a one time password or a screen sharing app with anyone. You never need them to receive money or to get your order.
If something goes wrong
Report it on Tapyoka. Pending payment pages, receipts, membership pages and our emails about them have a Report a problem button. Choose what went wrong: you paid but the seller has not confirmed, the link or group invite does not work, or you did not get what you paid for.
Contact the seller using the details on their page. Often the seller has not seen the payment yet. If you have not given the seller your UTR, add it with I have paid on your order page first.
Raise a complaint in your UPI app or with your bank. If your bank does not reply within 30 days, or you are not happy with its reply, you can complain to the RBI Ombudsman at cms.rbi.org.in.
If you think you were cheated, call the national cybercrime helpline 1930 as soon as you can. Then complete your complaint on cybercrime.gov.in within 24 hours, using the acknowledgement number you get by SMS. You can also report any cybercrime on cybercrime.gov.in directly.
What Tapyoka does with reports
We email the seller and ask them to answer within 48 hours. They can confirm your payment, fix the link, or tell us the payment has not reached them, with a note. We email you what they choose.
If the seller does not answer within 48 hours, we email you again and our team reviews the page.
When several buyers report problems with a page that stay unresolved, the page stops taking new payments while we review it. We may hide the page, and we look at the orders and requests on it. Sales the seller already confirmed are not changed.
New pages can only have a limited number of unconfirmed payment requests open at a time.
Tapyoka cannot get your money back from the seller and cannot promise how a report ends. If the police or your bank ask us about a page, we help them as the law requires.
Report a page
Anyone can report a page with the Report link at the bottom of it. Our grievance page lists how to reach our grievance officer.
