Decide what one session is
Before you set a price, write down what the person gets. It makes the price easier to explain and the call easier to run.
- Length: 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Shorter calls are easier to book.
- What happens on the call: a resume review, a mock interview, a diet plan, a business problem.
- What they get after: notes, a plan, a recording, or nothing. Say which.
- Who it is not for. One line saves you calls that go nowhere.
Set a price
A call takes more time than the call itself. You prepare, you run it and you follow up. Price the whole thing, not only the minutes on the call.
| Session | Sample price |
|---|---|
| 30 min career call | ₹1,200 |
| Resume review | ₹999 |
| Mock interview | ₹1,800 |
| 1:1 yoga session, 45 min | ₹599 |
These are sample prices from our coach and yoga teacher pages. If you are fully booked every week, your price is probably low.
Why take payment before the call
- A paid booking is a commitment. A free one is easy to forget.
- You do not have to chase anyone after the call.
- You can plan your week around calls that are already paid.
If you want to offer a free first call, keep it short, such as 15 minutes, and keep the number of free slots small.
Taking payment by hand
- Agree on a time on WhatsApp or in DMs.
- Send your UPI ID or QR code with the amount.
- Ask for the 12 digit UTR from their UPI app, not only a screenshot.
- Find the payment with that UTR in your bank or UPI app.
- Send the meeting link and put the call in your calendar.
This works for a few calls a week. It gets slow when people ask for different times, cancel, or pay without saying who they are.
Taking bookings on Tapyoka
With a booking page, people see your free slots, pick one and pay. You set it up once.
- Open Bookings and choose New service. Give it a name, the Length in minutes, a Break after, in minutes, a Price in rupees and where it happens: Online, In person or Phone call.
- Add your meeting link in Meeting link, address or note. It is sent to the buyer after booking.
- Set Notice in hours (how soon people can book), Days ahead (how far ahead) and Cancel up to, hours (until when the buyer can cancel online). Then choose Create service.
- Under Weekly hours, choose Add hours for each day you work, in IST, and Save hours. Add holidays under Days off.
- On your Page, choose Booking, pick the service and press Publish.
Add your UPI ID in Getting paid before you take paid bookings. A visitor picks a slot, gives their name and email, and pays you by UPI. The slot is held for 12 hours, or until 1 hour before the start, while you check the payment. When you press Mark as paid in Orders, the buyer gets the confirmation with your meeting link.
No shows, late arrivals and cancellations
Decide your rules before the first booking and write them in the service description. People accept rules they saw before paying.
- Cancellation: until when can someone cancel and get money back? 24 hours before the call is common.
- Late arrival: how long you wait, and whether the call still ends on time.
- No show: whether the money is kept or the call can be moved once.
- Your own cancellation: if you cancel, refund in full or offer a new time, whichever the buyer prefers.
Buyers pay you directly, so any refund goes from your UPI app to theirs. Refunds explains how it works.
Licences and tax
Some kinds of advice need a licence or registration in India. Investment advice, for example, needs SEBI registration. Check before you charge for that kind of call.
Income from calls is taxable. Check with a CA about how to report it and whether you need to register for GST.
