Where locks work
Locks work on link, product, embed and "Your product on another shop" blocks. Open the block, find Lock, and pick one under Who can open this. Age check is free; the other four need Pro.
The five locks
| Lock | What the visitor sees | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Age check | A button such as "I am 18 or older" | Content for adults only |
| Needs a code | A box to enter the code, then Unlock | A bonus for buyers, a link for a workshop group |
| Subscribe to unlock | A short form for email or WhatsApp, with consent | Free guides that build your list |
| Opens on a date | A countdown, then the link opens | Launches and festival drops |
| Members only | For members, with Become a member | Class links and member resources |
Details that matter
- Code: 4 to 32 characters, such as DIWALI26. You will not see it again in the editor, so note it somewhere. Visitors get 5 tries an hour.
- Subscribe: entries land in Leads. See How to build an email list from Instagram.
- Date: set Opens at (IST) in the future. Visitors see a countdown until then.
- Members only: set up plans in Members first. See How to sell a paid WhatsApp or Telegram community.
- Once a visitor unlocks a block, it stays open for them for 30 days.
A lock controls who sees the link on your page. Anyone who opens the link can still copy it and pass it on. For files, sell them as a product instead, where download links expire.
If you move from Pro back to Free, code, subscribe and date locks switch off on your live page, and members only locks stay on.
